Owners Corporation
162 Power St.,  Hawthorn
Peaceful living

A proposed development of 14 apartments on the corner of Power Avenue and Power Street, adjacent to 162 Power St, is currently before the Planning officers of the Boroondara Council.

The application has been published and nearby owners notified.  Objections to the proposed development were invited and 26 objections were received by Council.

On 17 August a meeting was held at the Camberwell Centre at which the applicant (a professional advisor to the developer) outlined the planned development and questions and discussion was invited of the attendees - all of whom were objectors to the proposed development.

The proposed development was presented to the Boroondara Council at its meeting on 15 November.  The meeting was held in the Council Chamber, 4 Inglesby Road, Camberwell commencing at 8:00pm.

Council approved the proposed development.

Subsequently it was resolved that the Owners Corporation should join, as a party, an appeal against the development on the basis that it will be self-represented and no external experts be used in the appeal;  Frances Sagala to be the spokesperson for the appeal and to handle all arrangements.  Costs of the lodgement ($307.10) to be reimbursed to the Sagalas (or other appropriate person).  It was noted that this appeal would be from the Owners Corporation and not part of a joint appeal with other affected persons from Power Avenue..
